Carwatha College P-12 is a multicultural, co-educational Prep-12 school located in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures which are highly valued as we believe all students, regardless of background, needs and abilities should be encouraged and supported to achieve their best.  This is managed through a safe and supportive learning environment.

Carwatha College p-12 welcomes students from around the world and values what our international students offer and bring to the college community. Students are provided with opportunities to maximise their learning while immersing themselves in the local culture and school community.

Location
Carwatha College P-12 is situated within a residential area close to Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre( about 200m)  There are a number of bus services from the shopping centre that go to Dandenong station, Springvale station, Glen Waverley,  Monash University and Chadstone Shopping Centre.

English Language Centre
Carwatha College P-12 has an on- site English Language centre. Before commencing their mainstream studies, students may undertake a six month intensive English study program in the English Language Centre. This allows them time to develop proficiency in English and in their understanding of the Australian school environment within a safe and secure learning environment.

Primary Language Centre
Our recently opened Primary Language Centre provides primary international students, weekly, with a 3 day intensive English program followed by a 2 day immersion in mainstream classes,


English Support
English as an Additional Language (EAL) classes operate at all year levels and are staffed by specially trained EAL teachers. Timetabled support classes are held in small groups so students receive personalised help in English.

Homework Classes
Senior students are expected to attend homework classes once a week where they will receive individual and small group support.

Homestay
Carwatha College P-12 has a group of caring homestay families who live in close proximity of the College. They are located close to accessible public transport, shopping centres and restaurants.

Host families are carefully selected and the College communicates regularly with families and students to provide assistance and support if needed.

Support Programs
We offer a wide range of support programs and personnel to help international students manage their studies and life in Australia.

They include:

  • The Program Manager – who oversees the program and is available 24/7 to support students
  • The International Students Coordinator – who manages attendance, welfare and academic progress
  • Multicultural Aides – who support students to understand the work being taught and assist students in community matters
  • Welfare Coordinator –available to support students who need advice and help
  • Interpreter Service
  • Third Party delivery of studies
