Careers Expo 2021
Carwatha College P-12 Careers Expo allowed our year 7 to 12 students to build upon their developing pathways knowledge in a real life context through discussing future education, employment and apprenticeship opportunities with industry contacts. Career activities such as The Careers Expo builds confidence, resourcefulness, resilience, adaptability and encourages students to deepen their appreciation for their studies, embracing civic minded exploration.
Carwatha Careers Ethos
The Carwatha Careers Program tailor pathway frameworks which cater for the student’s individual needs. We deliver career curriculum frameworks which link students’ pathway exploration to the current and future trends in relation to the world of work; this builds resilience and prepares young people for the 21st Century.
The Carwatha Careers Program works in conjunction with Department of Employment and Education’s Careers Curriculum Framework to deliver the following programs:
Careers curriculum framework
There are six steps in a young person's acquisition of skills for career development. These form the structure of the framework.
Goals at each step are organised into three stages:
- Self development: young people understand themselves, build their experiences and achievements and develop their capabilities.
- Career exploration: young people locate, investigate and consider opportunities in learning and future work options.
- Career management: young people make and adjust career action plans and manage their life choices, changes and transitions.
