A Message from the Principal

On behalf of the community of Carwatha College P-12, I welcome your interest in our school and invite you to learn more about us. Carwatha is a government school, providing for students from Preparatory level through to Year 12 on the one site. The size of the College and the emphasis on developing and maintaining positive relationships means that we know each student as an individual. With 700 students we can provide more personal supports and opportunities for your child. As such, it is “a College for the whole family”. This, together with the truly multi-cultural nature of our school population, supports a very caring and inclusive environment.

The P-12 nature of our school is a great strength, for both primary and secondary sections of the school. Staff work across sectors and both students and staff have access to facilities and expertise that would not be available in stand-alone primary and secondary schools. Our Year 7 students undertake an extensive transition program which begins in their primary years and continues throughout their first year of secondary education.

Parents and visitors compliment us on the warm and orderly school atmosphere and the strong sense of community. We encourage our students to develop high expectations about themselves, their work and how they present themselves and this is supported by our values of RESPECT, COMMITMENT, TEAMWORK AND EXCELLENCE.

At Carwatha College P-12 we aim to challenge our students intellectually, support them in their learning and provide a safe and happy environment for them at school.

We have a dedicated team of skilled teachers at Carwatha College P 12. The academic progress of each student is of paramount importance to us, thus students have the opportunity to work in ability groups from Prep up until Year 9 ensuring that they are provided with a challenging and appropriate curriculum.

We have outstanding success in growing the academic learning of our students. Our most talented students are challenged and accelerated through our V3 program. At Carwatha College P–12 all students study VCE over 3 years. That extra year of our personalised, innovative approach to senior studies means your child has a greater chance of success and opportunity to achieve a higher ATAR. Our V3 program empowers students to achieve better results, seek out better opportunities and make better choices.

We welcome visitors to our learning community and I look forward to you joining us for what I guarantee is an education full of challenges and opportunity. Our motto “Learning Together” is a reflection of our commitment to work in partnership with parents and students to achieve the best possible educational outcomes for all of our students.

Welcome to Carwatha P-12.
